Morocco Earthquake Appeal

After the recent earthquake in Morocco, we have initiated an urgent appeal for assistance.

On Friday night, a powerful earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale struck Morocco. The earthquake’s epicenter was in the High Atlas Mountains, about 70 kilometers south of Marrakech. Just 20 minutes later, a 4.9 magnitude aftershock occurred. Local authorities are already reporting that over 1,000 people have lost their lives, and many more are injured. These numbers are expected to increase rapidly in the coming days as the full extent of the disaster unfolds.

The local Moroccan Red Crescent is actively on the ground, providing immediate aid such as first aid to the injured and emotional support to those in shock.

Although the situation is still evolving, there is an urgent and significant need for those affected.
