Donate Your Qurbani
Alhamdulillah, Last year, with your support, we provided over 25,000 Qurbani meals. This year, with your assistance, we aim to deliver nourishing food to those most in need around the world for Eid al-Adha.
What is Qurbani?
Qurbani refers to the religious sacrifice of sheep, goats, and cattle, carried out between the 10th and 12th days of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar.
This sacred act honors the tradition of the blessed Prophet Ibrahim (AS), his son Ismail (AS), and their story of sacrifice and devotion to Allah (SWT).
As stated in the Holy Qur’an 37:104: “We called to him, ‘O Ibrahim, you have fulfilled the vision. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, this was a clear trial.'”
A single Qurbani donation can provide 57 nutritious meals and ensure that protein-rich meat reaches those in need throughout the year.
Who is Obligated to Perform Qurbani?
Qurbani holds significant importance in Islam, as emphasized in the Qur’an, and serves as a testament to Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) unwavering devotion and obedience.
According to many scholars, Qurbani is mandatory for all Muslims who meet the Zakat threshold. Despite its fundamental role in Islam, it is often overlooked, causing people to miss out on the abundant blessings associated with it.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “For every hair of the Qurbani, you receive a reward from Allah (SWT)” (Tirmidhi).
While giving Qurbani brings immense rewards from Allah (SWT), the most crucial aspect is the intention behind it. It must be given sincerely, with humility and God-consciousness (Taqwa).
